Game #1 Preview: Predators v. Ducks

This season:
Predators (0-0-0)
Anaheim (0-1-0)

Last season:
Anaheim and Nashville split their 4 games against each other at two apiece.

The Nashville Predators take on the Anaheim Ducks tonight at 7 p.m. at Bridgestone Arena. It is the first game of the season for Nashville. Last night, Anaheim opened its season in Detroit and were shutout 4-0 by the Red Wings.

The game was a physical one with Anaheim taking 46 minutes in penalties and features a fight between stars Corey Perry and Pavel Datsyuk. Anaheim also lost Andy Sutton who left the game with a broken finger.

Nashville fans have a lot of expectations for this year’s squad since the off season changes in personnel. As the new NHL commercials suggest, questions will be answered this season. Will Patric Hornqvist live up to the expectations placed on him once signing a lucrative contract? Can Pekka Rinne play as well from the start of the year as he does when he gets into the mid-season? And will Nashville make it to the second round of the playoffs?

Sergei Kostitsyn will not be making his debut for Nashville. He broke his toe at a practice when his foot blocked a Cody Franson shot.
