Injuries Continue To Pile Up For Predators

By Amanda DiPaolo

The Nashville Predators recalled center Nick Spaling for Milwaukee. Spaling is a penalty kill specialist so his services are much needed. Nashville is currently last in the league on the penalty kill at 64.3%.

Spaling was recalled because Marcel Goc was hit into the boards from behind by Niklas Backstrom during Saturday’s game against the Capitals. Goc has a separated shoulder and will miss 2-4 weeks.

The Predators also are without Matthew Lombardi. During last Wednesday night’s game in Chicago, Lombardi suffered a concussion and hasn’t played since. Lombardi will miss the next four games and will be reevaluated next week.

There is a really good chance that Martin Erat will play Tuesday night. Erat has been sidelined with back spasms.

Be sure to check out tomorrow’s Predlines story on the opportunities that emerge for some players as a result of injuries.
