Hornqvist (14 games played, 3G-5A) was originally injured last Friday night against the Edmonton Oilers after scoring the team’s first of six goals. Wilson (25 games played, 7G-12A) was injured in almost the exact same spot on the ice the following night against the Minnesota Wild. Both players can return from IR seven days after their original injuries. Neither will be with the Predators at the start of their road trip this week.
To help with the lack of forwards on the NHL roster, the Pred have recalled Matt Halischuk from his conditioning assignment with the Milwaukee Admirals. Halischuk had just one assist in 16 games with the Predators before being sent down. But he put up three points (2G-1A) in his two games with the Admirals before being recalled to Nashville.
As if the injury situation weren’t complicated enough, another regulars for the Preds may be out tomorrow night against Dallas:

With Brandon Yip and Hal Gill still on IR at the moment, the near future for the Nashville Predators roster is almost as cloudy as it could possibly be. Yip has been skating with the team and could return soon, which would leave the team with 22 of its maximum 23 active players. With the recent influx of Victor Bartley, Zach Boychuk, and Bobby Butler that means there will be several odd men out. The only questions are 1) their identities, and 2) when they’ll get their marching orders.
