Welcome to the Predlines Morning Skate – November 13, 2013 edition. Glad you could join us this morning.
The NHL General Managers are having fall meetings tomorrow in Toronto. The big agenda topic is going to be goaltender fights and whether or not they should be outlawed. Other items on the agenda are expected to be the recent changes in goalie equipment, supplemental discipline and impressions of the new hybrid icing rule. The meetings are only a one-day event and are designed for discussions and not additional recommendations.
We certainly don’t want Pekka Rinne in a fight, but it is usually pretty enteraining to watch other goalies spar. What do you guys think, should the NHL do away with goalie fights? Let us know.
Nashville Predators forward Gabriel Bourque was not in the lineup last night against the New York Islanders. Bourque flew back to Nashville after getting the word that his wife was going into labor with the couple’s first child. If it is a boy, my personal choice would be ‘Raymond’ and second choice would be ‘Phil.’ Best of luck to the Bourque family with their new baby.
