Welcome to the Predlines Morning Skate – November 26, 2013 edition. Glad you could join us this morning.
ESPN released their updated weekly power ratings on Monday. They have the Preds listed at 20th, up 5 spots from last week. Fortunately, upcoming opponents Columbus and Edmonton are ranked 26th and 27th.
Si.com is reporting that The NHL has now been hit with a concussion lawsuit by ex-players. The following players are currently named as plaintiffs: Brad Aitken (1990-91), Darren Banks (1992-94), Curt Bennett (1970-80), Richie Dunn (1977-1989), Warren Holmes (1981-84), Gary Leeman (1982-97), Bob Manno (1976-85), Blair Stewart (1973-80), Morris Titanic (1974-76) and Rick Vaive (1979-92). While there are only ten names now, the NFL suit started with 75 and ended with more than 4,500. It will be interesting to see if any of the notable names associated with the NHL join the suit.
Forbes magazine valued the thirty NHL franchises. They have the Preds listed as worth $205 million despite a small operating loss last year.
Former Nashville Predators’ forward Martin Erat has now demanded a trade from the Washington Capitals. He is unhappy with the minutes he is receiving and was a healthy scratch on Saturday night. I don’t think too many Preds fans will feel too bad for Marty, again.
Thanks for stopping by this morning.
