Welcome to the Predlines Morning Skate – December 3, 2013 edition. Glad you could join us this morning.
Over the course of the weekend, NHL.com released its final proposed rosters for most of the countries in the upcoming Olympic Games. Here is the projected roster for the Czech Republic team and the projected roster for the Slovakia team. Neither team contains any Nashville Predators, so they can be booed at will.
NHL.com did not do a projection for the Swiss team but if they did it would have certainly included Roman Josi as one of the top two defenders. A number of other sites also projected Milwaukee Admirals’ forward Simon Moser as locking up a roster spot. Moser has tallied 9 points in 20 games in Milwaukee this season and his contract has an out-clause that allows him to head back to the Swiss League if he is not in the NHL by December 15. In signing the deal, Moser noted that the impending Olympics was a part of the reason for this clause.
In other international roster news, Preds’ prospect Felix Girard was invited to the Canadian World Junior Selection Camp. He is one of 15 forwards at the camp and will be hoping to not be one of the 2 or 3 that are cut before the tournament. Girard is a 2013 fourth round pick of the Preds and has 18 points in 25 games for Baie-Comeau in the QMJHL.
The Preds’ former play-by-play man Tom Callahan, who left the Preds suddenly earlier this season, has his own radio show and it kicks off tonight. You can learn more about it here.
Thanks for stopping by this morning.
