Morning Skate: Preds Return Home

Tonight the Nashville Predators take on the Dallas Stars for the first time this season.

Dallas has been dubbed by many as the team’s new divisional rival, and it’s quite possible that things get chippy between the two squads tonight (especially if Rich Clune starts scoring penalty shot goals again).

SportsDay DFW had some pretty harsh (and perhaps realistic) things to say about the progress of the Stars after their 6-2 defeat to the Chicago Blackhawks at home. (Apparently not everyone can beat them 7-2…)

Will Carter Hutton get his second straight start tonight after helping to end the Preds five game losing streak on Tuesday? The Tennessean outlines how the Preds goalie, who hadn’t started in a month, was able to confidently take his spot between the pipes.

Will the Preds be able to win at home tonight after dropping all four games in their last homestand? NHL.com gives its preview of tonight’s Central Division faceoff.

I’m going to say that the Preds have turned at least some kind of corner with their 4-1 win in New York on Tuesday and I’m picking them to pick up another two points against Dallas tonight, should be a good one.
