Morning Skate: Preds Grab Three in a Row

The Predators took down the San Jose Sharks last night to win their third straight game.

The win had all the elements Nashville likes to feature in their style of play: a grinding forecheck, solid goaltending, effective power play and the ability to hold on to a lead late in the game.

Cellblock 303 recaps the Preds win and illustrates how each goal occurred in Nashville’s 3-2 triumph.

The Tennessean talks to Roman Josi about the Preds suddenly red-hot power play (Josi’s second-period tally with the man advantage was a pivotal turn in the game).

The San Jose Mercury News provides insight into what went wrong for the Sharks, one of the league’s top teams.

The same four improvements in the Preds game that had led them to two straight wins were present again last night, read our take here.

Three victories in a row certainly makes it easier to move on from the five-game losing streak that just ended. The Preds will face another giant task when they wrap up their home stand on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks.
