Three Questions for Predators and Flames

The Nashville Predators play their second game in as many nights when they take on the Calgary Flames for the second time this season. The Predators claimed a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks yesterday night.

The three questions for tonight’s game:

  • Does Dubnyk bounce back? Devan Dubnyk did not impress in his first and only start with Nashville last week against the Colorado Avalanche. The former Edmonton Oilers netminder let in five goals on 29 shots and took the loss.
  • Can the Flames take advantage of a “tired” Predators squad? Nashville prevailed 4-2 over the Flames earlier this month, but playing their second game in two nights, the Predators might not have the same energy level they displayed in the previous matchup.
  • Do Nashville’s defensemen contribute on both sides of the puck? The Predators trade for Michael Del Zotto earlier this week was (at least in part) an acknowledgment that the club realizes they need both offense and defense from their blueliners.

We’ll have the answers soon, faceoff is less than an hour away. A victory by the Predators puts them six points out from the Minnesota Wild, who hold the final wild card spot.
