The return of goaltender Pekka Rinne after a four-month absence wasn’t enough to carry the Nashville Predators to victory as they lost 3-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Nashville forward Patric Hornqvist was frustrated with the loss and lack of offense for his club as the Predators only managed one goal for the second-straight contest.

Earlier today the Predators waved the white flag on this season as they shipped off two their players, including 15-year veteran David Legwand. Six points out of the final playoff spot, the road is unlikely to get any easier for the club, even with Rinne back in the crease.

Nashville is back in action at home tomorrow night against the St. Louis Blues at 7:00 p.m. (CST).
