Traded the day before, Nashville Predators forward Patrick Eaves played in his first game with his new club last night.
Unfortunately a 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues spoiled Eaves’ debut, but the forward was still able to contribute penalty kill and power play time for his new squad.
“He’s been in Detroit for a little while now, so maybe he can give us some winning mojo. I know he’s a very detailed guy who has a tremendous work ethic,” Nashville head coach Barry Trotz said. “I’m sure as we get to know each other, I’ll find out he can do more and more.”
Eaves is likely to log more minutes in Nashville’s next game, tomorrow against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Not able to contribute as much as he probably would have liked, the winger now playing for his fourth NHL team still has plenty to offer the Predators.
“I want to get a lot of shots. I can shoot the puck pretty well, so hopefully I can start putting more pucks on the net,” Eaves said.
