Posts, missed passes and a complete lack of offense summed up the Nashville Predators recent home stand.
Nashville lost the final four contests of their five-game home set and scored just three goals over those four games.
The frustrating stretch of games has been especially exasperating for the Predators defensive corps. Despite limiting some of the top teams in the NHL (e.g. Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues) to only a few goals, Nashville has not been able to claim victories because of the lack of pucks put into the net themselves.
“It feels like we’ve hit 10 posts this home stand–not 10–but a lot of posts. We’re not getting the bounces right now, we’re playing great hockey and getting the chances,” Jones said. “We’re getting a lot of offensive pressure and it’s just not going in the net.”
The Predators will start a three-game road trip this week with a back-to-back set in Ottawa and Buffalo on Monday and Tuesday night.
