Wednesday's Predlines Headlines: Preds Drop First Leg of Back-to-Back

Nashville fell in the first game of their Western Canada road trip to the Oilers Tuesday night, 5-1. They will have to bounce back against Vancouver tonight at 9 p.m. (CST). Each loss is more devastating than the next in the search for the playoffs, but there is still slim hope.

If Nashville were to win out, they would still not be guaranteed a spot in the dance. Winning out would give Nashville a 96 percent shot at a playoff berth, but it would only be a wild card spot. As a fan, I’m throwing in the towel on this season. I want to see our boys play well, but I also want the Milwaukee kids come up to get some experience. With that sad thought, on to today’s Predlines Headlines.

  • It seems like the Florida Panthers are always fighting an uphill battle when trying to bring popularity to the sport in Sunrise and the Miami area. The ownership group isn’t making it easier and they may be harming things more than they are helping it. The Florida market does deserve better than this. Fans are not going to support the team if the taxpayers are controlled by a sports team. – Deadspin
  • Alex Ovechkin picked his bracket and released a video of his NCAA picks. He is a homer by picking Virginia. Weak sauce. If you want to pick a local team, pick No. 15 American. Because America. – Puck Daddy
