Tonight, in their first game since being mathematically eliminated from the playoff race, the Nashville Predators plays their second-to-last home game against the Phoenix Coyotes.
While Nashville may be out of the race, Phoenix is still fighting for its playoff life down the stretch. Phoenix and Dallas are both looking for that last playoff spot and the Coyotes are still two points behind the Stars. Phoenix has three games to go with a game in hand over Dallas and a win over Nashville will help them stay alive in the race.
Making a return to Nashville is former Predator Martin Erat. Erat has not been the Marty of old as of late and since he left the Predators, he has only scored four goals. He was traded to the Coyotes from the Capitals on March 4.
Nashville as a team may not have anything to play for, but these last three games will be a playing for pride and jobs. This Nashville team isn’t playing to lose for a draft pick and they won’t be looking to slow down. Both teams have something to play for during Fan Appreciation Night.
The puck will drop in Bridgestone Arena at 7 p.m.
