What Was The Best First Round Series of the NHL Playoffs?

This is the first year in the new NHL playoff format and not only did the first round provide intriguing division rivalry series, but it also provided a great set of games. We must give a stick tap to the NHL for forming the playoffs this way to better establish rivalries in the league and intensify the old ones. Old standbys like Chicago/St. Louis and New York/Philadelphia did not disappoint and new rivalries like Minnesota/Colorado showed they can be new games to look forward to next season.

This will lead into another round of exciting rivalries, including Boston vs. Montreal and Pittsburgh vs. New York. But before moving on to the next round, which series was the best so far? Was it one of the three series that went seven games or was it the battle between Chicago and St. Louis, two cup contenders in the first round? Was is the Anaheim vs. Dallas series, or did you think that the crazy Pittsburgh vs. Columbus was the best.

Tell us what you think. What was your favorite first round series? Tell us in the poll below and tell us why in the comments.
