The field narrowed to two, the Stanley Cup Final begins tonight between the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings.
One former Nashville Predators player will be participating in the series, defenseman Kevin Klein. Traded to New York in January for fellow blueliner Michael Del Zotto, Klein has settled into a role requiring less minutes and responsibility with the Rangers. Usually regarded as a Jack-of-all-trades, the defenseman who spent nine seasons with the Predators has given the Rangers all they’ve asked of him since being acquired.
Now, Klein will play for hockey’s ultimate prize and many in Nashville will be cheering him on.
Here are your Predlines Headlines:
Stu went with the same team and number of games I was already feeling, so I guess we’ll be going down in flames together.
Oh boy. I’d almost forgotten why the playoffs hadn’t seemed so dirty recently. Warning to the entire Kings roster: You’re probably about to be pushed, tripped, teased and unnecessarily bothered starting–I don’t know–let’s say about game four…This warning is for the referees too…
If you missed this video from last week, the Rangers discuss closing out their series with the Montreal Canadiens and moving on to the Stanley Cup Final.
Bonus: There’s a Klein appearance!
Faceoff for game one is set for a little after 7:00 p.m. (CST) in L.A. We’ll have a fun and unique recap tomorrow (rated in Kleins!), so be sure to check back for that.
And just so I can officially go on the record: Kings in six.
