The Nashville Predators have their work cut out for them this season. Here are some resolutions for their Fans for the coming year.

Hopefully, by now you are well into your New Years resolutions for yourself.  You know, lose weight, hit the gym more, more kale in your diet and so on.  But these are resolutions to help make you a better fan of the Predators this year.  Put these up on your refrigerator and you will become a better Preds fan by the All-Star break:

MORE PredLines – Ryan Johansen Trade Rumors

Watch Calle Jarnkrok

It’s easy to dismiss the young Swede because he only has six goals and 13 points on the season. He is one of those players that is so indispensable to a team.  He does so many things for the Predators.  He is second among forwards on the Penalty Kill, he has centered and played wing on the top three lines, he has been on the Power Play.  He always seems to be where he needs to be as evidenced by the fact that he has 18 takeaways and only 5 giveaways this season.   Try to keep an eye on him when he’s on the ice.

Google Preds Trade Rumors

It seems like there is something every day about players the Preds are in on.  Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Matt Duchene, Ryan Johansen and even Jonathan Drouin.  You have to take all of them with a grain of salt but they sure are fun to kick around. We DO believe that something is going to happen and it will probably be sooner instead of later.  It lights up Twitter every day though and we are happy to report what we hear.

Have Patience with Seth Jones

We have been accused of being a “Seth Jones Lovers” on Twitter.  That’s not so far from the truth as we feel as if the sky is the limit with him.  He’s still only 21 years old and one radio sportscaster who likes to try and mix things up is constantly on his back.  We hope that David Poile sticks to his guns and won’t trade him as we watch him improve all the time.  He is one of the brightest young stars in the game.

Learn About Fancy Stats

If you haven’t done this already, it is time.  Corsi, Fenwick, PDO and their more common names at NHL.com SAT, USAT and so forth are all things that make the game more enjoyable.  Here is a place to get started if you haven’t already from Sports Illustrated. When folks talk about possession numbers and shot stats, it’s just more fun if you have some idea what they are talking about.  You don’t have to be a Stats Nerd to do this, just put out a little effort, there are plenty of great places on the ‘Net.

Enjoy Arvidsson and Salomaki

Viktor Arvidsson and Miikka Salomaki have both been up from Milwaukee for the majority of the season. They are both so much fun to watch.  They may not be the absolutely most talented guy on the ice when they are out there but they sure are working harder than anyone.  They both give 110% all the time and are throwing themselves all over the ice. They’ve had some nice results too.  Several times a game we find ourselves smiling at something this duo is doing out there.

Bask in the Glow

This is already All-Star Month for the NHL and Nashville in particular.  It is going to really cast Nashville in a bright light.  Maybe some of those Canadian fans will actually realize that we have skyscrapers downtown and you won’t bump into Dolly Parton on a regular basis.  Smashville really knows how to throw a party and the rest of the league should be totally impressed.  It should be something special for all of us.
