The Nashville Predators had a great season in 2015-16.  We even had our own awards show for them because their invitations were lost in the mail.

The Nashville Predators are now in line for their end of the season Yearbook Awards.  You know the kind we are talking about.  Those “Most Likely To” captions under your goofy yearbook photo that everyone signed and then you didn’t look at again until just before and after the reunion.

Well, we put all of the PredLines writers in a very small room with nothing but tortilla chips with no salsa until they could work through this list.  We hope you enjoy what we’ve come up with. Bring out your pens to sign the yearbook:

Most Likely to Succeed

Nov 5, 2015; Saint Paul, MN, USA; Nashville Predators forward
Nov 5, 2015; Saint Paul, MN, USA; Nashville Predators forward

This was a tough one as there are a lot of young players on this team that aspires to be big stars in the NHL but it’s hard to pick against Filip Forsberg.  He’s the reason that Las Vegas GM George McPhee, who traded young Filip won’t accept and calls from David Poile.

Most Improved

There were plenty of Nashville Predators that could have joined this list too but in the end it was most definitely Roman Josi.  Here he out Norisses, the Norris Trophy Winner. He actually ended up finishing fifth in the voting for the Norris Trophy himself.

Most Intense Facial Expressions

The only other player even in the running for this award was Mattias Ekholm who had some good ones himself, but in the end, it had to go to Viktor Arvidsson whose expression above was tossed on Twitter during many a Nashville Predators game this season.

Most Likely To Secretly Dream of Being a Lumberjack

You know that a guy is gunning for the Lumberjack Award when someone like Ryan Ellis comes INTO the season with a beard like that.  Most players reserve that for the Playoffs.  He was compared to Yukon Cornelius in the Rudolph Christmas animation.  He wore it well.

Best Rookie Season

There were five rookies starting at once for the Nashville Predators this season but Viktor Arvidsson stood out not only for his play but for how much fun he is to watch. He catapults around the ice, shooting from weird angles and motions and who could  ever get enough of watching his emotion after his first goal.

 Romeo Award

Back around Valentine’s day, (of all days!) Ryan Johansen was caught giving his hockey stick a kiss.  If that doesn’t qualify for the Romeo Award, what does?  Carrie Underwood immediately gave him a hard time on Twitter and the rest, as they say, is history.

Best Dressed

This one was right down to the wire with a battle between Roman Josi and James Neal.  At the last minute a new arrival joined the fray.  Some argue that P.K.Subban was actually not on the team but how in the world can you argue with Purple Pants!?!

Most Likely to Be Booed

In past seasons, this award was handed to Ryan Suter every year.  Last season during the All-Star game, it looked like Patrick Kane had a chance to wrestle it away.  It now appears that the runaway winner is certain young man who matriculated at an Ivy League school for perhaps one year too long for the Predators.  We give you Jimmy Vesey.

We don’t even want to think what it would be like if he joins the Blackhawks!

Most Friendly

There’s nothing that says you can’t get to know the other team and say “Howdy, Welcome to Smashville.”  Roman Josi may have taken that to a new level with his friendly leap into the San Jose Bench.

There you have it, our end of the season Yearbook.  Sign your name with lots of funny sayings and such.  It was a great year!
