Nashville Predators: New Adidas away jerseys revealed at special event

Last night, the Nashville Predators released their new ADIZERO Adidas away jerseys. The white jerseys were debut by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. 

The release of the new Adidas away jerseys for the Nashville Predators comes a few weeks after the official release of all 31 NHL teams home jerseys. It seems to be that the Predators are leaning more and more on the Gold color in both the home and away jerseys, going away from the blue outlining.

This offseason, every NHL team switched from Reebok apparel to Adidas. Where most teams appear to be keeping close to the former designs, the Predators are going the opposite direction. The home jerseys had mixed reviews as it seemed to lose a lot of the blue that the Reebok jersey had. Whenever the home jerseys originally got leaked, they looked bad and cheap. But once the pictures were released, it looked better up close and better than the original pictures. The away jerseys, when released, also had mixed feelings among the fans. 

I personally like the new home and away jerseys for the Predators. Although they have went away from the blue, I like what Adidas has done with the jerseys. I did like the old Reebok jerseys, but those jerseys seemed to have a lot going on with the different colors here and there on the jersey. Although these new jerseys might seem plain and simple, both are a hit among most fans. It might be a crazy idea, but with the Predators going away from the blue on the jerseys, maybe they have the thought of going back to wearing blue helmets for a few games throughout the year.

Old versus new

There are very few similarities between the old Reebok jerseys and the new Adidas jerseys. The Predators of course kept the same logo from the past. They kept the piano keys on the back of the neck, and also kept the guitar pick logo with the state’s tri-star logo on the right shoulder of the jersey. Let’s not forget the guitar strings across the numbers. 

However, there are more differences between the two. The new Adidas jerseys have more gold than the previous jerseys, and have contain less blue as well. The away jerseys have gold across the shoulders, with a blue strip underneath. It is the same for the bottom and the sleeves of the jersey as well. Additionally, they went away with blue at the bottom part of the jersey and sleeves, making it predominately gold with one blue strip above the gold.

The changes appear to be drastic, but over time, fans will not care. That is, as long as the team wins.
