Last year, the Nashville Predators made an amazing push to the Stanley Cup Final. And lost. That may happen again this year.

Posts like this are difficult. Readers will see the title and immediately expect the post to be fully negative. Or, the author is just an idiot and chooses a “sky is falling” view of the world. Trust me, I love the Nashville Predators. While I may be a moron in some things, I only wish to be honest in my post.

Making to the Stanley Cup Final is hard. Just look at last season. The Chicago Blackhawks were the top team in the Western Conference, and one of the NHL’s best for several years. A sweep in the first round was likely; however, it was the lowly Nashville Predators that brought the broom.

The Predators rode the wave to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Can the Nashville Predators make it to the Final two years in a row? Maybe. This is a completely different team at this point of the season. A lot of the changes are positive. Depth at the center position is fantastic, and players are capable of moving from line to line as needed. The defensive combinations are tops in the league. Certainly, the talent is there to make it to the Final.

That being said, making it to the final will be difficult. Very difficult. So, let’s discuss reasons why the Nashville Predators will not make it to the championship.
