Nashville Predators: Predators As Top Toys of the 90’s

01/25/06 - GAMEBOY -Brand New Planet needs a quick studio photo done in the next week or so. It's for a story on the Evolution of the Nintendo Game Boy. At my desk I have three Nintendo Game Boys (new model, older model, and orignal model). I want a photo of the three together, with the oldest one in the foreground. One vertical and one horizontal if possible. Anytime a photographer has some spare time, or is already in the studio, they can drop by Planet and pick up the Game Boys. The photo is to be printed in our Feb. 16th issue (which goes to print Feb.13th), so I'm hoping to have the photo before Feb.7th. (Photo by Vince Talotta/Toronto Star via Getty Images)

These toys made every child’s Christmas list during the 1990’s. This year, we’re bringing them back in the form of Nashville Predators.

How many 90’s kids are reading this right now? Those of us who grew up in the Denim Decade have some very fond memories of our childhood Christmases. The toys that we received still have a special place in our hearts, all these years later. If you grew up earlier or later, just humor us for a few minutes. We’re about to take a journey to the past.

Let’s set the scene, shall we? It’s Christmas day in the 1990’s. Maroon and teal are really in right now. Mom has really big hair and keeps dressing you and your brother in denim overalls with a denim jacket and denim hat. Dad is trying out his new 45lb Sony Handicam camera he got this year and has it up on the tripod. Your anticipation is mounting. Santa has brought you five gifts this year. What could they be?

One by one, the gifts are opened. It’s the perfect Christmas. You got everything you wanted! And, as you reflect on those five gifts this day in 2017, you can’t help but think: “Which Nashville Predator represents each one of those five gifts?”.
