Nashville Predators: 5 Players You’d Want to Be Quarantined With
With the unprecedented times we find ourselves in stuck at home, that got me thinking about the best Nashville Predators players to be quarantined with.
Being stuck at home can get boring if you don’t have good company. Many of us fans have gotten to know the players on the Nashville Predators almost like they’re our personal friends.
To loosen up the mood and have a little fun, I’m going to give my short list of players that would be most interesting and most fun to be quarantined with to pass the time.
Current and former Predators players are included in this as there’s been plenty of former players that have played for this franchise that showed a lot of qualities that you need when confined to the house and stressed out.
Hopefully we’ll be back to playing hockey later this summer, but in the meantime here we go. My top-five players, in no particular order, for this fun and somewhat ridiculous idea.
5. Pekka Rinne
I started with the easiest and most obvious choice to make in Pekka Rinne. If I’m going to be trapped for an unknown amount of time in a house, I want it to be with a genuinely good person.
Seems pretty simple, right? Rinne comes off to me as one of the most genuine professional athletes in all of sports. And he just doesn’t come off that way, but he proves it in his actions.
I imagine Rinne being extremely positive and uplifting in a situation like this. Keep the nerves calm and look at everything in an optimistic fashion, which is what you need under stressful times.
Rinne is also such an easy player to root for, even if you’re not necessarily a fan of the Predators. Unless you’re just biased against everything associated with the Nashville Predators, odds are you like Rinne.
4. P.K. Subban
There’s no denying that P.K. Subban would make the most entertainment out of this situation as possible. He’s a larger-than-life kind of guy, and displayed that instantly when he came to Nashville.
Anyone remember how he sang karaoke in a honkey tonk on Broadway after he was first traded? He embraced the city and the fans instantly, and does that no matter where he goes.
Subban would make the situation fun and interesting with his social media following, his outgoing personality and everything else he brings. Perhaps that would get to be too much after a while, but at least you’d always be entertained in some form or fashion.
Things can get boring quickly, but not when Subban is in the mix.
3. Craig Smith
Since being drafted all the way back in 2009 out the University of Wisconsin, Craig Smith has made a big impact on this franchise and become a fan-favorite.
Fans love Smith because of the fire and energy he injects into the team, the passion he has for it and people think he’s not all that bad to look at, either.
Smith is just an easy guy to cheer for because you know he’s going to give it everything he has to get the win for his teammates, coaches and fans. Someone you want to go to battle with when facing a tough situation.
I instantly thought about a scene from the move “300”.
I’d assume that Smith would be a very popular choice among fans of all kinds to be quarantined with. He’s always been one of the most popular players on the team and gives the best interviews and goal celebrations.
2. Viktor Arvidsson
I’ve always gotten the notion that Viktor Arvidsson is the prankster of the team. There’s always that one teammate that’s in prank mode and makes you have to watch your back.
Maybe I’m misreading it, but that’s the notion I get.
If you’re most likely wanting to keep the mood light and humorous as much as possible when quarantined, I think Arvidsson would be a safe bet. He’d keep things light and chill.
Arvidsson personality on the ice probably translates to a situation like this. You don’t want to be locked up with someone who’s going to make matters worse and be a damper on the situation more than it already is.
You woudn’t have to worry about that with Arvidsson. He’d keep it fun and lighthearted, and maybe even go on a full prank war if you’re into that.
1. Mike Fisher
Perhaps one of the most popular Nashville Predators in franchise history, and I think Carrie Underwood would agree.

Fisher is the best Captain in team history, and I’m not sure anyone’s going to pass him anytime soon. He’s the ultimate leader. Someone you can put your trust into to deliver in the toughest moments and lead by example.
Fisher also has a lighthearted side and a funny side to him. He’s a family man, a competitor and someone you can easily get behind to get out of a tough situation.
It was hard to see Fisher retire, but it was awesome to see him make his big return towards the end of 2017-18 to make one more run at the Stanley Cup with the Predators. He truly left it all on the ice, making him an easy choice for this list.
Over 1,100 career NHL games is an incredible career to endure, and he kept up consistent numbers all the way to the end. Fisher would provide the leadership to get through the quarantine no problem.
