Nashville Predators: Top-Five Jerseys in Franchise History

The Nashville Predators have just over two decades of history, and with that comes some truly iconic sweaters that really stand out. We rank the top-five.

Nashville Predators First Jersey

When ranking Predators’ jerseys, no list would be complete without including the original. This jersey was introduced before the team’s inaugural season in 1998.

While this jersey is now 22-years-old, it still looks good. I think the away jersey looks better than the home due to the logo not having the triangle behind it and the darker color.

The Predators had an intimidating and unique team name to come up with a logo right from the start. They did a great job coming up with the logo and the team colors, with the navy blue being more dominant than it is today.

This jersey was introduced in 1998 and worn until 2001. The one that started it all and the one you still see some fans wear on a regular basis.

A short life for the original Predators sweater, but one that would be really cool to make an appearance in 2020.

2009 Third Jersey

In 2009 the Predators introduced an alternate jersey that was a massive improvement over their first alternate jersey, which will not be spoken of from here on out.

This new alternate was a departure from past jersey designs. A complete separation from the traditions color schemes of the franchise.

The 2009 alternate jersey featured blue and black colors with a checkerboard pattern at the bottom. It also featured a traditional lace-up front. This jersey with it’s more straightforward design was a fresh take on the Predators’ jerseys up to that point.

This jersey was introduced in 2009 and worn until 2011. Please bring this jersey back. It will fly off the shelves in the team store and looks so sharp as an alternate jersey.

Current Away Jersey

The current Nashville Predators away jerseys offer the right blend of the 2016 away jersey and the current home jersey.

The away jersey has some of the same aesthetic features as the home jersey, including the guitar pick logo on the shoulder and the piano keys on the inside collar.

This current away uniform really stands out with the gold stripes on the shoulders and also on the forearms. It stands out and is unique, which is what you want in your uniforms.

The current away jersey was introduced for the 2017-18 season and is the current away jersey for the Nashville Predators.

It will probably stick around for a while and seems to be just as popular among home fans as the home jersey. You see almost as many of these being worn at Predators home games as the home jersey.

Current Home Jersey

Out of all of the jerseys that the Nashville Predators have had, this has to be the cleanest and most eye-catching of them all. The gold color stands out among all of the current NHL home jerseys.

Some details that were carried over from past jerseys are the piano keys on the inside of the collar, guitar pick logo on the shoulder and guitar strings across the back numbers.

The current home jersey was introduced for the 2017-18 season and is currently worn today.

We can all agree that wearing a hockey jersey is just about the coolest thing you can do. During these trying times, maybe we should put on our sweaters and represent the Predators, even if we are staying at home.
