Matt Duchene: Slightly Rising

If you own some Matt Duchene stock right now, I hope you bought when the stock was really low when he wasn’t even being protected in the expansion draft.

Duchene has been the primary offensive threat for the Nashville Predators through the first 21 games. He’s up to 13 goals now, which puts him at an 82-game pace of just over 50 goals.

That lofty goal total probably won’t happen, but Duchene’s chances of shattering the Predators’ franchise record for goals in a season (34) remains very doable.

I can honestly see Duchene somewhat keeping up this impressive pace throughout the season. His goal scoring might take a slight dip, but I expect the points to keep piling up as he’s playing more aggressive and knows he still has a lot to prove.

Don’t get too crazy with Duchene’s stock getting much higher, but I do think he’ll keep performing at a rather high level.
