Roman Josi: Taking Off

Anyone who may have somehow forgotten about Roman Josi’s 2020 Norris Trophy season is being quickly reminded of that this season.

Josi has been easily one of the best defenseman in the NHL season, along with Adam Fox and Cale Makar, and a couple others. However, what Josi is doing is so vital to this Predators team that it’s really hard to even wrap your head around.

We’ve always known Josi is a gifted skater and doesn’t play like a prototypical defense first defenseman. He drives the offense for the Predators, and he’s once against in the Norris Trophy conversation at this early stage in the season.

Josi’s stock will keep rising as the season goes on. There’s a high probability he’ll get a Norris Trophy nomination and keep the Predators alive in at least the wildcard race for an 8th-straight playoff appearance.

We’ll cover some more Nashville Predators quarterly stock reports later this week with the depth of the lineup and the younger players.
