Nashville Predators Prospect Watch: Juuso Parssinen

Who is Juuso Parssinen?

Juuso Parssinen is a 21 year old, left shot, center from Hämeenlinna, Finland. Parssinen’s hometown of Hämeenlinna is within an hour and a half from the hometown of Nashville Predators notables such as Juuse Saros, Kevin Lankinen, and Eeli Tolvanen. The 6 foot 3 inch, 212 pound center is full of speed, skill, and strength.

How did Juuso Parssinen get to Nashville?

Juuso Parssinen was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 7th round of the 2019 NHL Draft. The young Finn spent all of his junior hockey years playing for his home country of Finland. Since being drafted by the Nashville Predators, Parssinen has played in 160 regular season games and 33 playoff games in Finland. In those 193 total games Parssinen has 133 points (37 G, 96 A).

It was because of this success in Finland that he was brought to Milwaukee in order to help the Admirals push in the Calder Cup. The Admirals run for the Calder Cup was cut short after getting eliminated in the Division Finals.

Welcome to the NHL Juuso Parssinen…

Juuso Parssinen has become a name that Nashville Predators fans have been anxiously waiting to see in an NHL sweater. That opportunity finally came tonight, November 12, against the New York Rangers at Bridgestone Arena in Smashville. Partly due to the recent struggles of the Nashville Predators, Parssinen was called upon in an attempt to bring some more offensive firepower to a team that was having a hard time finding the back of the net.

Juuso has been a pivotal part of the Nashville Predators AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, success this season with two goals and seven assist in ten games played. Juuso did not wait long to make a difference in his first NHL game, finding the back of the net just 4:58 into the first period.

What’s next for Juuso?

After having 17:49 minutes of ice time, scoring a goal on two shots on goal, and making a difference having a tenacious forecheck and presence on the ice all night it seems as though Juuso should be in Smashville to stay. Juuso’s play was a difference maker against the New York Rangers.

If other players up and down the Nashville Predators step up it is possible that Juuso Parssinen will be sent back down to Milwaukee. However, after last night’s game, there is a good chance that Parssinen is in Smashville to stay.
