Nashville Predators Trade Forward Tanner Jeannot to Tampa Bay Lightning
Per Elliotte Friedman, the Nashville Predators have traded forward Tanner Jeannot to the Tampa Bay Lightning. This comes right after the news that Preds General Manager David Poile will be retiring this summer.
Tanner Jeannot was re-signed by the Preds in July 2021 through the 2022-23 season. Jeannot had 5 goals and 9 assists this season, good for 14 points. The team also traded Nino Niederreiter to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday.
Tanner Jeannot never really got going this year, with only 14 points so far this season. In the 2021-22 season, Jeannot racked up 24 goals and 17 assists, good for 41 points.
The return is a pretty big one, with the Preds acquiring Cal Foote, a first round pick in 2025, a second round pick in 2024, and a third, fourth, and fifth round pick in 2023. Quite the haul for a fan favorite.
It seems that the Preds are heading toward a rebuild, as has been the wish of much of the fanbase. With such a beloved player leaving, and more surely to come, we are in for one exciting trade deadline.
As always, we’ll keep you covered on all of the Nashville Predator’s moves as we approach the deadline. As if this weekend hasn’t been chaotic enough, I feel it’s only about to get even wilder.
