Time for some fresh predictions right out of the oven for the Nashville Predators 2023-24 campaign, and one question is just how much improved will the offense be?

The Predators unfortunately finished near the bottom of the NHL in a majority of the major offensive categories last season, including these below:

Nashville Predators Offensive Ranks in NHL (2022-23)

  • Goals Per Game: 28th (2.72 Per Game)
  • Power Play %: 27th (17.6%)
  • Shots Per game: 23rd (29.5 Per Game)
  • Goals For Above Expected: 32nd ( -43.93)

That last one, per MoneyPuck, is perhaps the most glaring one of all and a main source for why the Nashville Predators’ playoff streak came to an end. They just couldn’t capitalize on the offensive scoring chances they did get.

In fact, if you dive deeper, the Predators were in the middle of the league in Expected Goals in all situations. They were ahead of teams in this category such as the Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights, the Colorado Avalanche and the New York Rangers.

That should at least give us a little bit of optimism that things can be rectified somewhat quickly with Head Coach Andrew Brunette taking over.

Let’s take a look at my predictions for the top-five goal scorers for the Nashville Predators for 2023-24. I’ll throw some honorable mentions into the mix at the end.
