With the 2023-24 NHL season just around the corner, it’s time to start looking at potential players that you will want on your fantasy hockey team this season, and if you’re a Nashville Predators fan, you’ll be lookin add these three to your squad.

These three players will score pivotal points throughout the season and help keep you within reach of the prize at the end of your fantasy hockey playoffs. They’ll also bring you consistency, which is what you really need from your fantasy hockey team.

I can promise you that if they are around when I am drafting in my fantasy leagues, I will take my own advice and add them to my roster.

Let’s get right to it.

#59 Roman Josi

Now this should come as no surprise that Roman Josi is the first on this list. A defenseman of his caliber is an asset to any fantasy hockey team.

Last year was an “off” year for Josi as he only skated in 67 games. Although he missed almost a quarter of the season, Josi still put up 18 goals and 41 assists for 59 points.

At almost a point-per-game last season, and 1.2 points per game the season prior, his consistency is one thing you can count on.

Averaging over 25 minutes on ice per game, Josi only spent 36 minutes in the penalty box last season. His discipline on the ice allows him to be out there more and in return, score more points for the fantasy teams he is on.

When you count in bonus points that most leagues give for each power play and shorthanded point the player earns, Josi had 12 bonus points during the course of the 2022-23 season.

Considering the Nashville Predators power play was horrendous, him being able to score points on the man advantage just showcases even more his all-star ability to generate plays anytime he is on the ice.

#74 Juuse Saros

Now anyone that knows anything about the NHL has heard this name before and will continue hearing it for years to come.

Juuse Saros has made a name for himself after taking the reins from Pekka Rinne for the Predators. Over the past two seasons, Saros has played in 67 and 64 games respectively.

Now granted this level of play will put extra wear and tear on the body of a goaltender but he has not let that slow him down, even looking like he plays better when he does not have a break in play.

When you have a goaltender that is the workhorse that Saros is for the Predators, it is a huge asset as goaltenders can snag you so many points.

During 2021-22, Saros had 38 wins, 25 losses, and only 3 overtime/shootout losses. Follow that up with a 2022-23 season record of 33-23-7, and you have an All-Star goalie for a fantasy hockey team.

Suspected to go early in fantasy hockey drafts, the Finnish goaltender has posted a .919 save percentage and 2.69 GAA just one season ago.

The Predators have come to lean heavily on Saros as of late since their goal scoring ability has not been present, and he has answered the call.

On a team that gives up a lot of shots, Saros is sure to rack up some points on saves alone.

#9 Filip Forsberg

Filip Forsberg rounds out my top picks for Nashville Predators fantasy players. The only concern with having Forsberg on your team would be his ability to stay healthy. Providing he is not injured; Forsberg is an elite playmaker and goal scorer anytime he is on the ice.

Averaging nearly a point per game over the past three seasons, including the 2021-22 season where he put up a career high 84 points in 69 games, Forsberg has the ability to earn fantasy points every time he laces up his skates.

While only skating in 50 games during the 2022-23 season, Forsberg still managed to score 19 goals and tally 23 assists.

Forsberg is known to be a streaky type of player and if he can start the season off scoring, you should expect him to continue to score often throughout the course of the season.

Again, the only downfall to having Forsberg on your team is his struggle with injuries as of late. His 69 games during the 2021-22 campaign were the most he had played since he played all 82 games during the 2016-17 Predators season.

Even with knowing that, if Forsberg is around during my late second round or third round draft, he will be on my roster.

With the new talent that is coming to this Nashville Predators roster, Forsberg will be surrounded by even more players that have the potential to create more scoring chances for the Swedish forward.

Nashville Predators Hot Fantasy Takes

There you have it; those are my three picks from the Nashville Predators that I think would be great additions to any fantasy roster.

Now granted they may not get you points like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, or Leon Draisaitl, but they will get you points consistently and improve your ranking in your respective league.

If all goes right, the Predators have added to their depth and scoring ability throughout the offseason and have more players that can be picked up later in the season to help out your fantasy hockey teams.

Until next time, start getting ready for the quickly approaching 2023-24 NHL fantasy league drafts and NHL regular season that starts with none other than, the Nashville Predators.
