Nick Perbix Makes Too Much Sense for Nashville

The Predators' right side of the blueline is often overshadowed by the more talented left side. With the names of Roman Josi, Brady Skjei, and now Hague, the right side is weak on a skill standpoint. Nashville's best RHD is Nick Blankenburg, showing just how much depth the team really lacks in that department. With Tampa Bay Lightning RHD Nick Perbix walking into FA, Nashville needs to target him.
Perbix, 27, has only been in the league full time for 3 seasons, all of which were with the Tampa Bay. In those 3 seasons, Perbix recorded 63 points, 50 of which were assists alone. Not only was he offensively reliable but he also managed to put a lot of pressure on the opposition. At 6'4", 206 lbs, Perbix had reach and could easily lift the puck away from his opponents. Nashville struggled to keep hold of the puck this year so having someone like Perbix would only improve the squad.
Signing such player would also increase locker room chemistry, especially with their star players. Steven Stamkos had a pretty underwhelming 1st year with the Predators, only posting 53 points. Changing scenery is hard when you don't have many people to connect with. Bringing Perbix to the team could help boost Stamkos' confidence and benefit both his stats and the Predators'.
