Michael McCarron is an interesting piece in the Predators lineup. For starters, he's a top faceoff taker in the western conference with 52.7% accuracy on the draw. He's also just the ideal power forward. At 6'6" 232 lbs., McCarron stands well above the league's average height of 6'1".

His offensive abilities are also worth noting. He's scored three goals in his last five games, and an additional two points and seven assists this season. McCarron's average the most ice time per game in his entire career this season with 14:31 on the night, almost a full minute more than his previous highest.

His name popped up in trade discussions among cup contenders like the Edmonton Oilers. Some speculated in second-round pick return for McCarron. With the improvements we've seen this season out of him, we could see a larger return; teams seem to be interested once again. Don't expect a first-round pick, but maybe a second and a younger depth centerman to replace him.
