Nashville Predators GM Barry Trotz announced Monday that the team signed forward Jake Lucchini to a one-year, two-way contract worth $850,000. The Predators also reassigned goaltender Matt Murray to the Milwaukee Admirals, their AHL farm team.

Milwaukee announced that the team re-signed defenseman Kevin Gravel to a two-year AHL contract and goalie TJ Semptimphelter to a one-year AHL contract.

Milwaukee looking to secure key pieces to help out the team's future

Lucchini, 30, has played 48 games with Milwaukee [20-22-7] this season, tallying 13 goals and 25 assists. He recorded a career-high in goals last season with the Ads, scoring 21. The 386-AHL-game veteran is second in points and goals among Milwaukee players this season. His 17 penalty minutes is the 15th most on the team, making him one of the least penalized players in Milwaukee right now.

He appeared in three games with the Predators last season, failing to register a point. He has 58 NHL games under his belt with three goals and three assists in that span. The undrafted centerman is on the verge of an NHL call-up with the trade deadline just around the corner.

Murray, 28, previously played 29 games with Milwaukee this season before his call-up, posting a .904 SV% and 2.86 GAA with two shutouts. His last NHL appearance was a 23-save shutout during the 2023-24 season with the Dallas Stars. Murray has one year left on his $1.55 million contract, signed back in April of last year.

The Admirals will continue to see familiar faces as they hold onto their captain Gravel and backup goalie Semptimphelter. Gravel, 33, has six assists on this season with a -11-point differential. He's played in all 49 games this season for the Admirals. Semptiemphelter, 23, has played two games with the team so far this year, posting a .897 SV% and 2.89 GAA. He went 15-6 with a .929 SV% and 1.99 GAA with the Atlanta Gladiators in the ECHL prior to his AHL call-up.

With the Admirals outside of a playoff spot with just under 30 games left in the season, the sudden positive movement in the locker room could increase the team's on-ice performance. The Admirals will host the Manitoba Moose in a Central Division showdown this Saturday at 6 p.m. CST.
