NHL Agent Dan Milstein isn't afraid to make waves and is part of a new school of representatives who are vocal on social media and in the public eye. We thought Milstein's biggest move this season would be the Kirill Marchenko trade request, but last week Nikita Kucherov requested a trade, setting the hockey world ablaze.

Kucherov's request landed Milstein a guest spot on Jeff Marek and David Pagnotta's DFO Insider podcast, where he discussed the topic and fielded questions about his other clients. One discussion is sure to catch Nashville Predators fans' attention, as he updated us on Yegor Surin's status.

""At the conclusion of this year, he will be signing and joining the Nashville Predators. They're super excited to see him. Hopefully, if everything goes well with the big club at the beginning of next season.""
Dan Milstein

This comment from Milstein isn't too surprising, as Surin spoke glowingly about the organization at this past summer's development camp and expressed a desire to play one more year in the KHL before attempting to become a full-time pro in North America.

This will hopefully be the final year of a four-year KHL career, during which Surin has steadily grown at Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. After a slow start as an 18-year-old, Surin recorded 37 points in 57 games last season. After recording 13 points in his first 21 games this season, he is on pace to set his career-high once again.

Surin should adjust well to North American hockey, which is why Milstein sounds hopeful that he will make an immediate impact for Nashville. The 6-foot-2 center isn't undersized like other Russians who have moved over recently, and he won't shy away from the physical play, either. He is fast enough to keep up with today's pace, and he can do a lot of other things well.

Surin was so impressive at development camp that fans wanted to see him migrate a year early. However, it isn't always easy to get Russians to break their contracts, setting the stage for his NHL debut in the 2027-28 season.

With Shane Wright looking like a savvy addition and a bunch of other prospects ready to make their debuts in the coming years, Predators hockey is about to get even more exciting.
