Four reasons to be worried about Nashville Predators in final stretch after Olympics

It almost feels like we're entering a brand new season with how long the Olympics were, but now the Predators hopefully return feeling refreshed and ready to go.

The Nashville Predators get hosed in a big time trade involving someone like Ryan O'Reilly

The good thing about this we won't have to worry for very much longer with the trade deadline creeping up fast. However, the worry is that GM Barry Trotz is going to be pushed into a trade for one of his big time assets, like Ryan O'Reilly, and not get nearly what he should get.

To be clear from my viewpoint, the Predators should only trade O'Reilly for a first-round pick and a decent prospect who preferably plays the center position. I know that asking price is high, and that's intentional. You don't just give away O'Reilly, a guy who loves being here and is basically an extension of the captain Roman Josi. and the head coach Andrew Brunette.

However, my worry is that Trotz is going to feel the heat to get whatever he can to rip some of this down and in the long-run end up giving away too much without getting fair value in return.

Just picture O'Reily getting traded to a contender and the Predators getting a busted prospect and a couple draft picks that may or may not work out a long, long time from now. That will string really bad like salt in an open wound.

I feel similar about Steven Stamkos as well, but not quite as strongly about Jonathan Marchessault. I don't want to see any of these big ticket trade pieces get unloaded for basically nothing in return, but O'Reilly would be the tougest pill to swallow for sure.

I put the likelihood of this happening very low, but it still worries me until we get past that trade deadline on March 6.
