Danforth's Consistency Would Benefit Depth Scoring
In his four-year NHL tenure, Columbus Blue Jackets' Justin Danforth has looked very promising. In 183 career games, Danforth has 64 points—31 goals and 33 assists. Despite being 5'9" 181lbs, he engages in puck battles along the boards and center ice. He's willing to put his body on the line for his team. Nashville would benefit greatly from Danforth's sacrifices day in and day out.
His engine is always running. He's constantly on the forecheck and pokes his stick out in plays to get the puck. His highly structured two-way game is a coach's dream. You can expect what he'll play like shift after shift. Put him on the penalty kill, expect a strong kill. Shove him on the power play, watch him shift the puck around. You can't go wrong with Danforth's two-way competence.
Danforth is a low maintenance guy who'd give Nashville consistent depth reliability. He went undrafted going into the NHL, so he'd help influence the culture.
Surrounding Danforth with guys like Matthew Wood and Zachary L'Heureux would make him an influential leader to the youth. He'd instill discipline and a "work for your opportunities" mindset, something extremely important to the Nashville culture.
