No gold or silver, but plenty of stats.

The Nashville Predators are well represented at the 4 Nations Face-Off as we previously discussed and the tournament did not dissappoint.

The four nations of Canada, United States, Finland, and Sweden came together to put on an All-Star competition that created a ton of buzz and positive press for the league, especially when being pitted against the dog and pony show that the NBA All-Star game has become.

The collective rosters have created a best on best (or as close to it) occasion and those rosters are dotted with current and former Nashville Predators.

Team Sweden

Both Gustav Nyquist and Filip Forsberg were suited up for Team Sweden for three games and those games weren't exactly stellar from a stats perspective. Gustav Nyquist played sparingly, averaging under 10 minutes per game. As one of Sweden's elder statesmen he didn't have a featured roll, but managed to score a goal on one of the two shots he managed to get on net. Filip Forsberg was held off the scoresheet, save for two penalty minutes. He threw 8 shots at the net, and played around 16 minutes a game.

Former Predators forward Victor Arvidsson faired only slightly better, with a single assist over the three games he played for Sweden, while also on the Gustav Nyquist discount time plan. Mattias Ekholm played 15 minutes a night and notched an assist, but not a shot on goal.

Team Finland

Kevin Lankinen getting two starts to Juuse Saro's one felt weird. Neither of them contributed offensively though. For a breakdown of the goaltending Max Greenberg has you covered here.

In the category of former Predators, Mikael Granlund was amongst the leaders of the whole tournament in points. He impressed with 4 points (3 goals and 1 assist) during the tournament. He's had an impressive season so far for the San Jose Sharks, earning him a trade to the contending Dallas Stars. Erik Haula got healthy in time for the tournament, but didn't make a big impact on the scoresheet. He was a -2 over his time in the tournament at around 10:17 per game.

The Nashville Predators did not have any current or former players representing Canada or the United States. Those countries featured the most heavily on the TV coverage, but the Sweden versus Finland rivalry is one that will continue as we move into an Olympic year in 2026.

These best on best style rosters will typically serve as a preview for whatever the next major international tournament is. The Predators don't have any major roster contenders that aren't already on international rosters for these four countries, but Roman Josi is a lock to make the Swiss team, and likely be the captain. Depending what happens with Russia, Fedor Svechkov could be an interesting option for the team.

We've seen the success of the tournament, and we know that the World Cup of Hockey will be back in 2028 as they alternate with the Olympics, so time will tell if regular All Star festivities return in 2027 or if the 4 Nations returns.
