The two-time Stanley Cup champion arrived in Nashville and after his first year, many were disappointed. In his second season, he struck back, scoring 42 goals and 66 points in 82 games. Nearly 75% of voters picked Stamkos as the title winner.
He led the team in scoring and shooting percentage with 20.4%. 14 of his goals were on the power play, helping the Preds excel on special teams scoring.
Justus Annunen placed second in voting with 21.6%. Roman Josi and Erik Haula tied for third with 2% each.
