Steven Stamkos- 1,123 Games, 1,162 Points, 567 Goals, 595 Assists, +34 Plus/Minus
Stamkos among all-time NHL greats and probably still has a good two or three years left. Sure, the early part of his Predators tenure hasn't gone according to plan, but he is signed for four years so he'll keep adding onto his illustrious career numbers.
As we watch Alex Ovechkin chase down "The Great One" Wayne Gretzky for the NHL's all-time goal record, Stamkos sits with 567 career goals. That's third among active players, and 24th among all players in NHL history.
Stamkos needs seven more goals, very attainable to happen before the current season ends, to pass Mike Bossy for 23rd. After Bossy, Stamkos has a decent chance to pass Mark Recchi for 22nd. Stamkos would need to score 11 more goals this season or he'll have to wait until 2025-26.
As long as Stamkos plays out his four-year contract with the Predators, we'll get to witness him continue to climb the goals list. If Stamkos were to average 25 goals over the next three seasons, including the second half of this current season, he can move into the top-15. It will be tough for him to move up any higher on the list, unless he really breaks out for a 40-plus goal season. I have my serious doubts about that unfortunately.
Stamkos is known as one of the NHL's all-time greats at scoring on the power play. It's unlikely he'll move up that list this season. He is 11th in NHL history with 221, with the 10th place player being Dino Ciccarelli with 232. Stamkos at least passes him next season, and probably a couple more players to inch towards the top-5.
