The Others: Evangelista, Novak, L'Heureux, O'Reilly, Lauzon
A few others to look at and just how far down the Predators franchise list they are, or in O'Reilly's case, on the all-time NHL list.
First with O'Reilly, he passed 1,000 NHL games not too long ago. He's a former Stanley Cup winner and Conn Smythe winner and has built an outstanding and respectable NHL career.
O'Reilly is only halfway through his second season with the Predators, but has a strong chance to move into the top-20 on the franchise list for power play goals. He currently has 20, and can pass J.P. Dumont and Colin Wilson to move into the top-20.
As for the youngsters on the team and if they have long-term futures with the franchise to move up the list. It's really hard to predict if any of these guys will be here long enough to move up.
Novak has 104 career points, which in terms of active players, put him fourth on the current team. That's just wild to see and gives you a clear illustration of the roster turnover the Predators have gone through over the last two years.
Evangelista's future still looks bright, and he has 68 points. If he can have a solid second half of the season, he should surge past such notable Predators players as Philip Tomasino, Dante Fabbro, Alexandre Carrier and Austin Watson.
Hits are a difficult stat to really track and they are very subjective, unlike other stats like goals which are straightfoward. But as we know, Jeremy Lauzon has become one of the most prolific hitmen in the NHL. He has the single season record for hits in a season with 383 in 2023-24, according to the NHL records book.
Shea Weber holds the official franchise record for hits with 1,695. Lauzon if fifth with 810 hits, and will next pass Mike Fisher once he returns from injured reserve. Unless he never plays another game for the Predators, Lauzon will certainly pass Fisher but likely won't catch the others ahead of him, which are Filip Forsberg, Colton Sissons and Shea Weber.
And then there's Zachary L'Heureux. This is more of a prediction because he's so early into his Predators career. However, I love what I see from him early in his NHL career, aside from the recent suspension.
If the organization invests in L'Heureux long-term one day, I can see him climbing up the franchise list fast in points and hits. He has 106 hits in 33 games this season.
