St. Louis Blues, 1967, 48 Seasons

Wow, almost 50 years with no Stanley Cup. What do you tell your fans about that?  They started in 1967 when they were one of six teams added to the Original Six.  They were in a division with those expansion teams and made it to the  Stanley Cup Finals their three first years in existence. That’s it…never again.

They have been an amazingly consistent team.  They’ve been in the playoffs all but eight of their 48 seasons for an 83% clip of making the playoffs. They were in the playoffs for 25 straight years at one point and have been President’s Trophy winners but cannot  get back to the Stanley Cup Finals.

More from Predlines

They have one of the most balanced teams in the league right now, with young Vladimir Tarasenko one of their many stars.  They’ve been to the playoffs the past five years in a row but just can’t seem to get over the hump.  They definitely have a chance of jumping off this list soon but how do you fight 48 years of futility?

Well, that’s our list of, shall we say shame?  Probably not as winning the Stanley Cup is one of the hardest things in sports.  You can see that there are some teams that have been searching for a very long time.
