Getting To Know Nashville Predators Prospect Egor Afanasyev

Nashville Predators prospect Egor Afanasyev is already turning heads at Preds development camp, which has brought a lot of intrigue around him.

Egor Afanasyev was drafted 45th overall by the Nashville Predators, which was a pick acquired by the team through the P.K. Subban trade, he is set to play with the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL next season.

The 6’4 Russian winger scored 27 goals and 67 points for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL last season.

Egor was kind enough to answer some questions via Instagram, so here is more about him from the man himself.

Colby: What were your initial thoughts about being drafted by the Nashville Predators?

Egor: I was definitely so excited, couldn’t wait to see the city, staff, fans and being on the ice with the top prospects of this organization

Colby: What has been your favorite part of being in Nashville since arriving for development camp?

Egor: The best part for me was the game on the last day. In that game, I could see how ready I am and what to expect in the future

Colby: Speaking of what to expect in the future, which Nashville Predators player are you most excited to play with?

Egor: It’s an honor for me to play with any guy on this team. Coach (Peter Laviolette) is going to decide where I should play, I’m ready for anything.

Colby: Who was a guy that you watched while growing up that you have modeled your play after?

Egor: Ilya Kovalchuk, he likes to always be in the offensive zone and score a lot of goals.

Colby: What are some things that you would like Nashville Predators fans to know about yourself?

Egor: I just would be very proud if I would get a chance to play in front of the best fans in North America.
