ICYMI: Nashville Predators Ink Afanasyev, Tomasino to Entry Level Deals

In case you missed it, the Nashville Predators have inked 2019 Draft Picks Egor Afanasyev and Philip Tomasino to entry-level contracts.

With both players off to a hot start in the OHL, the Nashville Predators felt the need to sign two key pieces to their future to their first NHL contract.

2019 First Round Pick, Philip Tomasino, has been killing it so far for the Niagra Ice Dogs, scoring nine goals and adding 14 assists for 23 points.

Tomasino’s 23 points are good for fourth in the entire league and his 14 assists rank seventh in the OHL.

This hot start has caught the eye of the Nashville Predators, as Tomasino looks to be a solid centerman for the team in the future.

His dynamic offensive play has certainly shown early on this season, and judging by how he has been playing, he could end up on the Predators roster as early as next season, and the signing of this contract is a step in that direction.

2019 Second Round Pick Egor Afanasyev is also catching the eyes of the Nashville Predators as well, as he currently has five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 12 games for the Windsor Spitfires.

The 45th overall pick is looking like an absolute steal for the Predators, as he is currently second on the Spitfires in goals and points.

Afanasyev, who stands at 6’4, 201 lbs, looks to be a key part of the team’s future, as he has a wicked shot and can use his large frame to screen the goalie and score goals from the front of the net.

He is also a very good skater for his size, so he is a player that Predators fans need to watch for, as he could make his way on the roster in the next few years.
