It’s going to be exciting to watch Roman Josi represent the Nashville Predators in the 2020 NHL All-Star game this upcoming weekend.

Roman Josi is having a breakout season for the Nashville Predators, despite the team around him stumbling through and on the outside looking in for a playoff spot. No one saw that coming, but we shouldn’t be surprised at the breakout from Josi.

Josi is heading to his third All-Star game as he’ll represent the Central Division squad on Saturday in St.Louis. He’s sadly the only player on the Predators roster that was deserving of an All-Star selection this season, even though Matt Duchene was a candidate for the “Last Man In” vote.

This game fits Josi’s style of play so perfectly at 3-on-3 play. Plenty of open ice and end-to-end action for him to showcase his speed, stick-handling and ability to generate offense. He’s basically a dynamic forward disguised as a defenseman, which drives some fans nuts.

Can Josi get the MVP honors?

As it pertains to this exhibition game, it won’t be surprising in the slightest if Josi lights the lamp several times and has a decent shot at winning MVP honors. It’s a tournament format, so hopefully he gets to play in both games.

The entire Central Division roster is going to be fun to watch with other incredible offensive players like Nathan MacKinnon, Tyler Seguin and Patrick Kane joining Josi on the roster. They’ve also got Jordan Binnington and Connor Hellebuyck lining up in net.

I’d like to see Josi participate in the Fastest Skater competition, which is always a pretty exciting event. He’s an incredible skater and usually is the main catalyst to generating offense for the Predators with the way he rushes up the ice.

Josi had a goal and five assists in two games last season at the NHL All-Star game. The Central Division squad lost to the Metropolitan Division in the final game. He played in his first All-Star game back in 2016 when the city of Nashville put on a spectacular show to host the event.

The 2020 NHL All-Star Game festivities will begin on January 24th and wrap up with the three-game tournament on January 25th. Let’s see Josi add more hardware to his incredible career as he’s in the midst of a Norris Trophy type of a season.
