The Florida Everblades of the ECHL have a prospect they should target to help the Nashville Predators farm system. This guy would be a great addition.

I know there are a lot of teams in the ECHL, but there are some particular players that have been raising my attention as of late. One player in particular that the Florida Everblades should pick up for the Predators farm system is Jared VanWormer.

The particular reason why he would be a good prospect addition is because his points are insane if you look at his last three years. He was with the Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL in 2017-18 and notched 22 goals in 70 games. He added another  20 assists.

The following season for VanWormer he scored 20 more goals and 27 assists, which was nearly a point per game average. His team ended up going to the playoffs and he amassed another eight points.

I have a feeling you’re asking you to yourself why this player? Well if you look at it before he got traded to the Allen Americans of the ECHL, he’s been putting up really consistent numbers and I feel like if he gets a better call-up he could really shine for someone’s farm team, including the Predators.

He would be good for the Everblades

Now let’s take a look at that Everblades, who are the ECHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators.  Yes, the Everblades have a really good penalty kill percentage and a really good power play percentage. But here’s another thing; with VanWormer’s scoring, the Everblades would be unstoppable on the forecheck.

An addition like VanWormer could possibly help them make the playoffs this year. Even right they’re in a really good playoff spot with Cam Johnson and Ken Appleby setting up between the pipes.

Adding VanWormer could really make this team a force to be reckoned with in the ECHL. The Predators already have one of the top team in the AHL in the Milwaukee Admirals. The future looks really bright in terms of prospects for the Nashville Predators.

VanWormer hasn’t stopped producing since being traded from the Mavericks to now the Allen Americans. He has 34 points in 47 games in the current season.

Furthermore, VanWormer is playing disciplined hockey with just 12 penalty minutes, and he’s surging in his plus/minus ratio at plus-18. This guy is still very young at 27-years-old and deserves a better opportunity, and the Predators farm system would be a great destination for him.

From what I’ve seen in VanWormer’s play is that he can create scoring chances from anywhere on the offensive side of the ice. I’m curious to hear what fans from the Everblades feel about this player. Do they feel this would be a morale booster to the team or would it drag down the team chemistry?

I have a really strong feeling that VanWormer would be a top scorer in the future as a member of the Milwaukee Admirals, and who knows. Maybe even the Nashville Predators one day. You always have to be keeping a strong eye on your young prospects in all leagues.
