Nashville Predators Prospect Update: Egor Afanasyev
As the season has been put on an definite pause, we can start getting updates on how the big time prospects are doing for the Nashville Predators.
Egor Afanasyev is a top prospect in the Nashville Predators organization currently.
This year Afanasyev has been very productive and justifying his draft position in the OHL with the Windsor Spitfires. He’s scored 31 goals and 36 assists for 67 points. That’s in 62 games of action for some pretty impressive numbers for the 19-year-old.
The Predators have so many good and probable future superstars that has gotten them ranked a well-deserved top 25 Prospect ranking for NHL Prospects.

Afanasyev and Tyler Angle are tied with the most team points at 67 points apiece, while the team has been a standout team in the OHL with a quality record of 34-20-8.
It’s safe to say that if Afanasyev continues on this very productive and efficient pace that he’ll find his way onto the Nashville Predators in the near future. We could definitely have a future superstar in the making for the Predators franchise.
Afanasyev’s last year in the USHL was an understatement for his latest production this past season. While playing for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, he ended up scoring 27 goals and 35 assists for 62 points in 58 games.
So it’s a positive and encouraging sign that Afanasyev is improving more and more with the quality experience he’s getting in the minor leagues.

He also helped get his team to the playoffs, where he only played in eight games. He tallied six points in those playoff appearances.
His time in 2018 with the Lumberjacks is when NHL teams started noticing him produce more efficiently That’s when he was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft.
