When isn’t it fun to beat Chicago?

Now we’re taking a stroll back to January when John Hynes arrived as the new head coach, and third in franchise history, to revive the slumping Nashville Predators.

This game was spotlighted by a history-in-the-making moment.  The Predators had just gotten trounced badly by the Bruins in Hynes’ first official game as head coach. They needed a strong response.

The Scoring all started with Viktor Arvidsson right after the three-minute mark of the first period.

Colin Blackwell and Matt Duchene scored also in the first period. It was noticeable that the Predators were already showing positive changes under Hynes with aggressive checking and offensive zone time.

The Blackhawks would respond with two goals of their own to keep this game interesting. But Nick Bonino would end the suspense by tacking on an empty-netter to salt this one away for the Predators and get Hynes’ first win as Predators head coach.

Then the history happened as Pekka Rinne went behind his net, held the puck and shot the puck over everyone to score his first-ever NHL goal. It was a beauty to watch, and he joined Chris Mason as the only goaltenders in Predators history to score a goal.

Social media erupted after this happened. Here is the recap of that down below.
