After a brief training camp period, the Nashville Predators have selected 30 players for the playoff roster as they have now arrived in Edmonton.

The Nashville Predators are now at their hub city of Edmonton, Alberta to try to make a run at the 2020 Stanley Cup. They have the 30 players on their roster who will try to make that happen.

Here’s a complete look at the 30-man playoff roster, per the Nashville Predators official press release.

There are some young up-and-coming prospects who cracked the roster and proved to the coaching staff that they can be relied upon under the enormous amounts of playoff pressure.

Familiar lineup, a few new faces

Your usual core group of Predators players all made the roster, including some fringe players like Austin Watson, Colin Blackwell, Yannick Weber and Dan Hamhuis. No surprises there.

Some of the notable additions to the roster include Eeli Tolvanen, Michael McCarron, Daniel Carr, Yakov Trenin and Alexandre Carrier. A good cast of talent coming in from the Milwaukee Admirals who all combined for 185 points last season in the minors.

The noteworthy players to be left off the playoff roster include Philip Tomasino, Rem Pitlick, Steven Santini and Ben Harpur.

The Predators are taking all four goaltenders on their playoff roster, with Connor Ingram and Troy Grosenick being the additions. No word yet on who will start for Game 1.

The line combinations throughout training camp were interesting to follow. Now the next step is to see how Head Coach John Hynes chooses to construct his expanded lineup, including if one of the players from Milwaukee gets a starting role.

Carrier is a player to keep an eye on as far as getting into the starting lineup on the third defensive pairing. He brings an offensive element to his game that the other options don’t bring.

As of now, the status quo looks to be in place in terms of who gets to start in Game 1 against the Arizona Coyotes. We’ll get a clearer picture of that when the Predators take on the Dallas Stars in an exhibition game on Thursday.

The one player that’s currently been in the lineup regularly that I could see getting moved out for Trenin or Colin Blackwell is Austin Watson. Aside from him, I expect the same roster that we came accustomed to in the regular season, barring any injuries.
