Nashville Predators: 2023 NHL Draft and Awards Headed to NSH

Buckle up everyone, the 2023 NHL Draft and the 2023 NHL Awards are heading to Nashville.

Exactly 20 years after Nashville hosted the NHL draft, the city is once again bringing the draft back to Smashville in 2023. Coupled with this announcement, the 2023 NHL Awards will also be brought to Nashville, the first time time the city has hosted the event.

NHL Draft Returns to Nashville 20 Years Later

The last time the Nashville Predators hosted the NHL Draft was 2003. Now, 20 years later in 2023, the city will host the draft for the second time.

This news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as Nashville was reported to be a favorite for the event as reported by Greg Wyshynski of ESPN on July 26, 2022.

Times are different for the hockey scene in Nashville as opposed to nearly 20 years ago, as the fanbase has grown significantly since the early days of the franchise. It’s pretty safe to assume the event will bring a lot of buzz to the city, and further grow the hockey scene here in Middle Tennessee.

This draft should be fun, as the 2023 draft class is looking to be quite a good showing. Nashville has shown in the past they know how to throw a party, and this event will likely be no different.

Nashville Hosts NHL Awards for the First Time

For the first time, Nashville will be hosting the 2023 NHL Awards. This is the first time that both the NHL Draft and NHL Awards will be hosted in the same city since 2006, when both were hosted in Vancouver.

Awards like the Hart Trophy, Norris Trophy, etc. will be handed out during this event, and is sure to have a lot of Predators fans who have longed for the event to be brought to Nashville excited.

This news was a bit more of a surprise, as there wasn’t too much talk regarding the NHL Awards being brought to the city. Nonetheless, this news is huge for the organization and city, helping to grow the sport of hockey here in Tennessee.
