The Nashville Predators have amassed some impressive single-season records to date. Some of them might just be in play for this assembled roster.

These are a few that fans should watch as the year goes on. Keen fans will have their eyes on record watch.

Saves – Current Predators Record Holder:  Pekka Rinne- 1,987 saves in 2011-12

There is no guarantee on any of these but if you have to pick one, this has the best chance of happening. Pekka Rinne set the record in a stunning 73 games (72 starts).

Last season in 64 games Juuse Saros had 1,928 saves. With three more games, he would’ve had the record. Heck, one more save in each of his 63 starts would’ve gotten him the record and then some. With the way that offense continues to rise in the league, finding an extra 59 saves should be cake if Saros can play in 65 or so games this season.

By that same token, Saros could also be in line to break the shots faced record also owned by Rinne from the 2011-2012 season. That number sits at 2,153, with Saros’ most recent season yielding 2,099.

Again, we’re a game or two or just some extra production away from Saros taking both Predators records for his own.

In terms of all-time records for Predators goaltenders, Saros has a long ways to go before he catches Rinne’s franchise records in wins (369), saves (17,627) and shutouts (60). Saros sits at 147 wins, 8,300 saves and 20 shutouts.

Plus Minus – Current Record Holders:  James Neal, Filip Forsberg, Nick Bonino, Mattias Ekholm +27

This is one of the tougher records, but plus-minus is kind of an anyone’s game type of stat.

Alexandre Carrier was one off the record in 2021-22 but didn’t manage to get close last season with his limited number of games. With his style of play, he’s got a shot at the record. Forsberg with a good enough season could own it all on his own.

If you’re looking for a dark horse candidate, then keep an eye on Ryan McDonagh. He’s recorded a +26 season before and a +38 season season as well. He’s going to be an important player this season for Nashville and is going to have the ice time to do it.

Roman Josi could also end up with the record if the 5-on-5 offense for Nashville excels, but he will spend so much time on the ice that he will take a hit.

Shots – Current Record Holder: Roman Josi- 281 Shots in 2021-22

So if Roman Josi wants to shoot nobody is going to stop him, and he’s got the best odds to break his own record here.

This one is a speculation pick, but Luke Evangelista might just be the next real triggerman for the Predators. Was averaging 2.25 shots a game last season, but with some pro experience and a more featured spot in the lineup, Evangelista will be given the green light to let it rip. If he starts hot expect Head Coach Andrew Brunette to put him in a spot to shoot a lot.
