The Nashville Predators have a handful of promising forward talent, and a huge chunk of that sits at the wing.
General Manager Chris MacFarland reeled in a healthy number of reliable forwards this offseason, and there are a few that will be playing strong minutes on the wing. Beyond the new additions, the Predators already possessed some pretty well-known wingers around the league. Let's take a look at Nashville's top four wingers heading into the 2026-27 season.
1. Filip Forsberg
There is no doubt with this selection. Filip Forsberg is not only the best forward on the Predators this season but all-time. Last season, Forsberg scored his third 40+-goal campaign and an additional 35 assists for 75 points. He posted his second highest career shooting percentage of 16.3% on 246 shot attempts. He is the franchise leader in goals (358). It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that Forsberg is one of the most adored players in both the stands and in the locker room.
Forsberg helped build the Predators from the ground up and bring them to multiple playoff appearances since joining the team in 2012-13. He held a crucial role in the 2016-17 Stanley Cup Finals run where he would score nine goals and 16 points while maintaining a +14 rating. At 32 years old, Forsberg has many years of Predators hockey left in his system, and I'm sure no one is complaining about that.
2. Steven Stamkos
While he also plays center, Steven Stamkos thrives the most on the wing. His iconic one-timer shot is what helped make the Predators top six one of the most dangerous in the league. He led the team in goals last season with 42, which is tied for the sixth most of his career. He maintained a consistent 20.4% shooting accuracy, the highest on the team by a wide margin. For the first time in his career, 33% or less of his total goals came from the power play, which demonstrates his growing ability to play 5 on 5 offense for Nashville.
Despite being 36 years old, he hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, and he is still one of the top goal scorers in the league. It will be pretty hard to find a replacement at wing with the same level of skill as Stamkos, that's for sure.
3. Luke Evangelista
Luke Evangelista is the best right winger on the Predators, and for good reason. He was second on the team in assists with 44, despite being only being in his third full season in the NHL. Vange was making high-level plays on the ice night after night, and his silky-smooth hands only add to that. He isn't the best of shooters. scoring only 12 goals with a 6.8% shooting accuracy last season, but he made up for it with his playmaking. He was a direct player driver on both the Forsberg-O'Reilly and Stamkos-O'Reilly lines, both of which were the top offensive lines on Nashville per MoneyPuck.
4. Matthew Wood
Despite only being a rookie last season, Matthew Wood was one of the best right wingers for Nashville. His powerful wrist shot made pucks flying towards the net almost impossible to stop. He scored 17 goals and 30 points in 71 games, shooting at 16.5% accuracy. His goals and points were the fourth most and ninth most by a Predators rookie all-time respectively. His role on the team changed halfway through the year with head coach Andrew Brunette making him a center, but his role on the wing is just as impactful.
